January is the perfect time to escape the cold and enjoy the Caribbean sun — but packing smart will make your cruise even more enjoyable! We will be look forward to weather in the mid 70's- low 80's, except on embarkment and disembarkment in Miami were we will be expecting closer to low 60's.
Packing List
7-8 Tank tops OR lightweight t-shirts.
1-2 long sleeve shirts (in case of cooler temperatures)
Ladies: 2 Swimsuit Cover-Ups
2-3 Bathing Suits
Flip Flops
3-4 pairs of shorts
2-3 sundresses
3-4 causal sundresses / evening dresses
2-3 Nice blouses or tops
1 pair of jeans or pair of capris
1 Formal Outfit
White outfit (NCL often hosts white hot glow night theme — optional but fun!)
Dress shoes for formal night.
Men: 2 pairs of long pants for dinner with button-down shirts
Comfortable walking shoes
Casual shoes or flats to wear to dinner
Sunglasses
A beach bag (see suggested small carry on)
Hats (for Pool Deck)
A pair of water shoes. There are a few beaches in the Caribbean that are rocky. It is best to come prepared.
Pack a set of fitness clothing and shoes.
A lightweight jacket or sweater. Bring one for everyone as Miami (disembarkment), the evenings can get cool, or in air-conditioned spots.
Pack a pair of PJs.
Undies and Socks (one set per day plus one spare).
Accessories for outfits such as jewelry, headbands, scarves, etc.
Suggested Carry-On Packing List
— your luggage may take a few hours to arrive at your stateroom.
Sunscreen, but check to make sure it is reef safe.
Insect Repellent, bring if you are venturing out on a hike, a zip line adventure, or anything outside of water.
Bring an Underwater Camera if you plan on going snorkeling or doing fun activities that involve water. We have this particular waterproof camera, fell in love with it, and ended up buying all the extra accessories that come with it.
First-Aid Kit
Wellness Kit: This includes Benadryl, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, stomach medications such as Pepto tabs and Pepcid, and decongestants. Epi-Pen if needed.
E-reader or tablet and charger
Headphones
Rain jacket/Poncho
Toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, and deodorant- most cruise lines include complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
Lip Balm
Aloe Vera in case of sunburn
Small travel towel
A waterproof phone case allows you to take your phone in the pool, the ocean, etc.
Towel Clips for those windy days.
Plastic bags- For wet swimsuits or dirty shoes
Important Must-Haves
Passport (strongly recommended)
Photo ID & cruise documents
Any required travel confirmations (flights, hotel, shuttle)
Medications and seasickness remedies (like Dramamine or Sea-Bands)
Bonus Tips
Pack a small carry-on for embarkation day with swimsuit, sunscreen, and a change of clothes, will also be handy for port days.
Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs or duty-free shopping!
Optional: Magnetic hooks (walls are metal!), power strip (non-surge protected), and a lanyard or small crossbody for your key card.
